Residents and workers in Illinois can rest easier now that Sears has announced the list of closures.
None of them are in Illinois. That made news simply because the state lawmakers had inked a deal to get them to keep their headquarters in the state, in Hoffman Estates.
The partial list of closures can be viewed at
www.searsmedia.com.
So far, Sears has listed 79 of the 100-120 closures they announced earlier would take place because of lackluster holiday sales..
According the Chicago Tribune, Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn had a in-depth conversation with Sears CEO Louis D'Ambrosio.
They noted, Quinn "had a good, long conversation" with D'Ambrosio, said Brooke Anderson, a spokeswoman for the governor. "We're pleased with today's outcome."
