NEW YOR, NY - Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani today announced that the fifth
annual New York City Venture Capital Conference & Exposition (www.nycvc.com)
will be held July 17-19 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The
three-day event is the largest gathering of the City's expanding venture
capital community, and offers some of the City's brightest high-tech
entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet with investors from across the
country.
"New York City has become the e-Business Capital of the World, and our
annual conference is the perfect setting to form strategic partnerships and
explore investment opportunities," said Mayor Giuliani. "Last year this
conference attracted over 750 people, and we expect this year to be an even
bigger success."
This year's conference will showcase 25 of New York City's most promising
entrepreneurs before a national pool of over 500 venture capitalists,
investors and industry leaders. Workshops and discussions with distinguished
panelists will focus on the success of the high-tech and biotech industries
in New York City and their potential growth and alliance with traditional
industries.
Companies selected to showcase their products and services are chosen from
hundreds of applications by the conference's organizing committee. Past
presenting companies included Ad One LLC, Agency.com, DoubleClick, HotJobs,
Kozmo.com, Mamamedia, and MedScape.
New York City-based companies seeking early-stage investments or second and
third round financing are encouraged to apply to present business plans at
the conference. To submit an application or for information, visit
www.nycvc.com or contact Sheri Lietzow at slietzow@srinstitute.com.
The New York City Venture Capital Conference and Exposition is hosted on
behalf of the City by the New York City Economic Development Corporation
(EDC) and is organized by the New York Venture Group and the Strategic
Research Institute. Conference sponsors include Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison,
