WPBF reports that police arrested 52-year-old John Robin Whittle while inside the Hayloft Bar in Port Richey Thursday afternoon.
Wells Fargo notified police at 1:42 pm that they had been robbed and gave the suspect's description, according to
Tampa Bay Online. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
While police were searching the nearby area, they located the suspect inside the bar. They were able to identify him from the description provided by bank employees.
A similar
incident happened in October, when a man in Wyoming was arrested while having a beer at a restaurant less than two-hours after he had robbed a Bank of America branch.
In 2009, a 72-year-old man was
arrested in Newport Beach, CA after he robbed a Wachovia Bank. Police found him shortly thereafter having a drink at a local bar.
