Police believe that Charlene Ferrero,a 55-year-old New Jersey woman, died after she fall into a lake because she was sleepwalking.
Ferrero has a history of sleepwalking, and police believe that Ferrero drowned after she walked right across a train trestle and fell into a lake. The trestle is located near her apartment.
According to the Huffington Post, Ferrero’s neighbors and friends have been helping the police in Oaklyn, N.J. They are trying to help police figure out the strange chain of events that led to Ferrero’s death. She died sometime over the weekend.
According to the New York Daily news, Ferrero’s dead body was pulled from Newton Lake just hours after she vanished. Her death is being ruled as an accident.
It is believed that the woman had a sleepwalking episode just a few days before she vanished. Teresa Cerini, Ferrero’s neighbor, said that she walked Ferrero home and made sure she got into bed. Cerini said that Ferrero didn’t even remember what had happened when she woke up, according to ABC.
Police say that toxicology reports will be ready in a few weeks. The reports could show whether or not Ferrero took any sleep aids or medicine that is associated with sleepwalking.
