Google publishes street-level photos of 82 cities and villages in northern Japan devastated by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. Users can compare before-and-after images of the area.
Panoramic 360-degree photos of the tsunami and earthquake damaged zones can be viewed on a special website set up by Google.
Google's “Build the Memory” web page lets users compare before-and-after images of locations affected by the twin disasters.
Google began sending its Street Views cars through the streets of the tsunami area in July. The latest photos in the region were taken in November
The specially equipped vehicles took photos along 44,000 kilometers of roads in the areas worst affected by the natural disasters.
The area around Fukushima has not been completely photographed due in part due to radiation fears, reports the New York Times.
