Mayor Jorge Santini's family Christmas card photo has the public puzzled. The Christmas photo shows the family of the Mayor of San Juan standing with happy smiles around a brutal killing scene.
The family of five, with two girls and a boy, stand in what appears to be smiling approval of a stuffed and mounted jaguar holding an antelope by the throat in a death grip (see photo below).
The photo, which continues to baffle everyone who has seen it, has earned itself a place in the famous Awkward Family Photos blog. And the family has other photos demonstrating just how awkward family photos can get. There is one showing the family with a bear and a bird with wings spread over the Mayor, and another with an Antarctic theme in which a penguin is shown staring intently into the ears of Santini's son.
The pictures have gone viral and have been shared on Facebook more than 15,000 times.
Dark speculations began making the rounds that the Christmas card picture showing a jaguar mauling an antelope is cryptic message to the mayor's political opponents and enemies.
But Mayor Santini has explained that the photos were taken to promote the San Juan Wildlife Museum. The Inquisitr , however, wonders: "Do these photos make you want to go see the San Juan Wildlife Museum? Or do they give you an uncontrollable urge to point and laugh? Is Jorge Santini’s Christmas Card the most ridiculous card you’ve seen this year?"

Huffington Post also comments on the caption in Spanish under the bizarre photo which translates in English as: “May your dream be illuminated this Christmas.”
Huffington Post says:
"We’re not quite sure what the Mayor’s dream is, but the hunt scene was chosen to embody the mayor's holiday spirits over a few other creepy options, including an unconvincing penguin figure staring into a young man's ear in an frosty wonderland and a giant bird swooping over the Mayor’s head as a black bear poses nearby."
