New details are being released about the gunman who opened fire on the streets of Hollywood, CA on Friday. He has now been identified along with a possible motive.
Digital Journal reported on Friday that a gunman walked down Vine Street near Sunset Blvd. and began shooting at cars. Police shot and killed him after he refused to comply.
CBS Los Angeles reports that the L.A. County Coroner's Office has identified the shooter as Tyler Brehm, 26, who was living in an apartment near the shooting scene.
Brehm also had no relatives living in Los Angeles. His mother had asked the LAPD to withhold his identity until she could inform family on the east coast about the events.
One man remained in critical condition after being shot in the neck by Brehm. The Associated Press identifies the victim as John Atterberry, a music industry executive who has worked with artists like Jessica Simpson and The Spice Girls.
Two other people had to be treated at the scene for minor injuries.
People who knew Brehm say that he had just broken up with his girlfriend and seemed distraught, which may offer a possible motive. He had also just changed his Facebook relationship status to single.
He had been living in an apartment with his girlfriend, and neighbors say they often heard arguing between the two. Cops had even been called on a few separate occasions to intervene.
