East Orange - A woman, Kasia Rivera, 34, of East Orange, New Jersey, is facing charges of homicide after she allegedly injected silicone into the penis of a 22-year-old man who wanted penis enhancement surgery.
According to Toronto Sun, Rivera was arrested by East Orange police on Friday, on manslaughter charges and unauthorized practice of medicine leading to the death of her patient, identified as Justin street.
Street died of a fatal blood clot on May 6, the day after the surgery.
According to NJ.com, the medical examiner determined that the cause of the death of Street was silicone embolism (that is, a blood clot), after the surgery performed in Rivera's home.
Penis enlargement procedures, often euphemistically referred to as male enhancement, involve various methods alleged to make the male penis increase in girth, length and hardness. Medical experts warn that most claims are fraudulent and practitioners exploit the gullibility of clients, deliberately confusing distinction between temporary enlargement in erection and permanent enlargement.
