After announcing that she had breast cancer on the "Today Show" in October, E! host Giuliana Rancic returned to the show again to talk about her experience.
Rancic shared with the "Today Show" viewers this morning that she has chosen to press forward and undergo a double mastectomy after a recent a double lumpectomy failed to correct the problem.
The original surgery did not eliminate all of the cancer from her breast.
Wanting to be a mother, as shown in her reality TV show "Giuliana & Bill," Rancic admits that being a mother was a major part of her consideration concerning the mastectomy.
"If I had chosen to just have another lumpectomy ... Then I would have to put off having a baby for several years," said Rancic".For me, it was very important just to get the cancer out."
A double mastectomy give me less than a one percent chance of the cancer returning explained Giuliana, it would be much higher if I had chosen to undergo another lumpectomy.
Trying to remain confident and strong, Rancic, did admit that she still struggles with the thought of the upcoming procedure.
"I couldn't be more at peace with the decision, but it was hard. I still break down some nights ... But, I'm okay."
