Kidnapper sues couple he held hostage

By Owen Weldon     Dec 3, 2011 in World
A kidnapper who was fleeing from police is suing a couple that he held hostage in their own home. The kidnapper claims that the couple broke an oral contract.
The man, Jess Dimmick, held the couple hostage in their Kansas home, while he was trying to get away from authorities. Dimmick says that the couple, Jared and Lindsay Rowley, entered into an oral agreement with him, after they agreed to hide him from police in exchanged for money.
Dimmick is currently in jail, where he is serving a 11-year sentence after he burst into the Rowley’s home back in 2009. The police wanted to question Dimmick in the death of a Colorado man, and that was when the chase started, according to Manila.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Dimmick is seeking $235,000. Dimmick is 25-years-old and he is representing himself.
According to USA Today, Dimmick’s hospital bills were over $150,000 and that he has no way of paying them. Officers said that an officer’s rifle accidentally went off after they apprehended him.
Dimmick was convicted in May of 2010. Dimmick is now facing a murder charge in Colorado, as well as other charges over the death of the 25-year-old slain Denver man.
The couple put in a motion to dismiss the case, an a Shawnee Country judge is said to be considering the motion.
