article imageOp-Ed: Marek Hamsik celebrates too soon, comes back to bite him

Napoli - Napoli player Marek Hamsik must have felt like hiding under a rock following a recent game with Juventus. After scoring a penalty, he celebrated as if he'd won the World Cup. The penalty was then disallowed, before he completely spooned the re-take.
The Slovakian midfielder thought he'd given his team the lead after confidently slotting the ball past Gigi Buffon, and looked to be off on his holidays.
After running down a flight of stairs and disappearing for several seconds, Hamsik returned, only to learn that he would have to re-take the penalty due to encroachment.
This time, he smashed it over the crossbar, much to the amusement of the commentator.
Hamsik's miss went on to prove crucial, too, as the game ended 3-3.
But don't worry Marek, you're not alone!
Fabio Santos of Brazilian team Vitoria should be equally, if not more embarrassed. After scoring a textbook header against Criciúma, he attempted to jump into the crowd, only to fall backwards into a hedge. Top stuff!
