Video: Pig born without back legs walks upright on front legs

By JohnThomas Didymus     Dec 2, 2011 in World
Mengcheng - The video of an incredibly gutsy pig born without hind legs but has learned to get around by walking nimbly on its two front legs has gone viral online.
The pig, a boar from Mengcheng, in eastern China's Anhui Province, is on the path to global fame. The pig born July 2011, was named Zhu Jianqiang ("strong-willed pig") by villagers who were impressed by its evident zest for life in-spite of its disability. The pig shows remarkable coordination, hoisting itself up like a gymnast on its two front legs and actually walking upright, though the wrong way round.
The proud owner of Zhu Jianqiang, Ge Ximping, said he had thought the pig, born deformed, would die, but with effort and devotion, the animal learned to walk on its two front legs. Ge Ximping said:
"It took lots of time and devotion but now all villagers love him...Villagers all love it as it walks like an upside down gymnast."
The pig now weighs 30 kg and continues to attract crowds of admirers from neighboring villages.
