The security vulnerability on the UN Development Program website was said to have been exploited to obtain the usernames and passwords of UN Staff.
Accounts hacked included those of employees of United Nations Development Programme, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization, reports betanews.
The hacking by TeamPoison
revealed that several of the user IDs contained no single password.
Motivation
TeamPoison is accusing the UN of a long list of crimes which
Gizmodo describes as ranging from mundane corruption to more existential offenses like trying "to facilitate the introduction of a New World Order and a One World Government” which would demand crushing human individuality.
According to
betanews, the group calls the UN “a senate of global corruption.”
This is not the first time the group is hacking a world organization like the UN. Gizmodo
reports that TeamPoison had previously hacked RIM's blog. Tony Blair’s private address book was also reportedly compromised by the hackers.
