The Centennial Park Conservatory is located within the boundaries of Etobicoke`s sprawling Centennial Park. The park is located in South-Central Etobicoke.
Centennial Park is a 500+ acre park that is bordered to the north by Eglinton Avenue and the south by Rathburn and is a beehive of activity both day and night with residents using its many attractions, all year round.
The park has many attractions including an outdoor stadium that seats 2,200, lighted baseball diamonds, regulation football fields, an arena, the Etobicoke Olympium with multiple pools and fitness facilities and indoor jogging track, a golf course, a ski hill and chalet, a pond with paddle boats and picnic sites, a mini-indy race track, and of course, the conservatory and greenhouses.
The Etobicoke Conservatory & Greenhouse is a 12,000 square foot three greenhouse complex; one of the houses is dedicated to showing seasonal displays that are held eight times a year. There is a permanent tropical display house full of fruit trees, tropical plants, a koi pond with waterfalls and beautiful lush ferns. The final house is an arid one, filled with cacti and succulents.
The Fall Chrysanthemum Show was held at the Conservatory on Sunday, October 30th. Many people were out enjoying the beautiful sunny Fall day and, of course, the stars of the show, the versatile Chrysanthemum.
There were in excess of 100 varieties of the lovely Chrysanthemum, and the colors and smells abounded. Please enjoy.
