Des Moines - For the 72 years Norma, 90, and Gordon Yeager, 94, were married they held hands. The Iowa couple died last Wednesday an hour apart from one another holding hands in an ICU Unit after being injured in a car accident.

Norma Stock married Gordon Yeager the same day she graduated from high school on May 26, 1939 in Iowa. The couple, who parented four children, believed in marriage until death do you part.
Norma and Gordon were rarely apart. On October 12 they planned to go to town together but that wasn't in the cards for the couple.
According to KCCI Gordon pulled out in front of another car resulting in a crash that sent him, Norma and the occupants of the other car to hospital.
The Iowa Department of Transportation had been working to revoke Gordon's licence; full details are unknown due to privacy issues.
When the elderly couple were involved in a car accident on October 12 in Des Moines, Iowa they were treated side by side in the critical care unit at Methodist Medical Center. While the couple was unresponsive they still grasped each other's hand. At 4:38 p.m. Gordon died, his hand in Norma's. Her heart beat registered on his medical equipment. At 5:38 p.m. the equipment went silent as Norma passed away.
The couple's children take comfort knowing that their parents passed away together with their family surrounding them.
On Monday their funeral took place with the couple still holding hands in their casket. They will be cremated and their ashes will be mixed together.
