Mogadishu - It's known that Al-shabab denied their involment in Dedieu’s kidnapping even though the Kenya government did not believe them. But a person familiar with their activity said: ”It's not Al-shabab’s culture to kidnap people from outside of Somalia.”
The France woman, who has been kidnapped from the Kenyan island of Manda, is dead. According to the Radio France International”RFI”, Marie who was 66-years- old and confined in a wheelchair is dead somewhere inside Somalia. The spokesperson for the France Government didn’t explain if she was killed by her captures or died for natural causes.
“Mme Dedieu’s health, the lack of certainty about the conditions of her captivity, the fact that the kidnappers probably refused to give her the medicine that we sent her, lead us to believe that this tragic outcome is unfortunately the most likely,” foreign ministry spokesperson Bernard Valero said Wednesday.
Marie Dedieu was suffering from cancer and she was disabled and the kidnappers left behind her wheelchair.
Is known that Al-shabab denied their involment in Dedieu’s kidnapping even though the Kenya government did not believe them. But a person who knows their activity said:” Is not Al-shabab’s culture to kidnapping people from outside of Somalia.”
Valero condemned “the total lack of humanity and cruelty of her kidnappers”, adding, “We want them to be identified and brought to justice.” The France authority is demanding that Marie’s body be returned without any condition.
In a press conference Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali said:” This as inhumane act that offends the dignity of the Somali people.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Marie. Our thoughts and
prayers are with her family and friends and we offer our sincere
condolences.”
"We had all continued to work and hope for her release. Unfortunately,
al-Qaeda-linked extremists and pirates continue to threaten the security of
Somalia, the region and the world. My Government will work hard to bring
those responsible to justice.
