article imageNFL: Fans get what they want as Tebow named Broncos starter

Denver - Either the Denver Broncos were not exactly honest about Tim Tebow and his position on the depth chart, or they are just sick of the drama. The Broncos will now prepare Tebow to be the starter when they come off their bye week.
With the Denver Broncos down 23-10 against the San Diego Chargers this past Sunday, the Broncos fans chanted "Tebow! Tebow!" as Kyle Orton struggled during the first half of the game. In the second half Head Coach John Fox made a change and inserted Tim Tebow into the quarterback position. My question is, if he was the third string quarterback, why did they not put their second string quarterback Brady Quinn in the game? Why would you go straight to Tebow?
Today this is the question that most people are asking, but Fox said this week that wasn't really the case. Tebow was his No. 2, despite showing almost no progress in becoming a pocket passer this past off-season.
The impact on the game was not instant as Tebow was 1 of 3 on the first two drives as the Broncos went three and out. The third drive was no different as he ran for 5-yards and ended up missing on the next pass that ended the drive. It was not until the 8:54 mark that Tebow showed Broncos fans what they wanted. He rushed for 23-yards on that drive and scored a touchdown on a 12-yard run.
Then on the Broncos next drive at the 4:48 mark Tebow ran for an 8-yard gain and then hit running back Knowshon Moreno with a screen pass that he ran for 28-yards. The last drive Tebow connected with Brandon Lloyd who made a great one-handed catch. He then connected with Daniel Fells before he spiked the ball to stop the clock.
Tebow now had the Broncos in the position to win the game, but ran like a wild man in the pocket before throwing an incomplete pass in the endzone. Tebow finished 4/10 passing with 79 yards and a touchdown. He had 6 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown which gave him better numbers than Kyle Orton.
Orton said this about being replaced by Tebow
I'm disappointed with everything, I wish I could have played better. I wish we had a better record. There's a lot of things, but reality is what it is.
This is a situation that Orton may not like, but he will have to deal with. You cannot say he is not honest about supporting Tebow as during the game you can see Orton clapping for him as he made plays.
People are wondering what Tebow has to offer, well we seen a glimpse of it last year when he went 1-2 in the last three-games of the season. As a rookie, he completed 50 percent of his throws and collected five touchdown passes and three interceptions. He also ran for six TDs.
With the Broncos now at 1-4, they have nothing to lose with Tebow at the helm. This will give everyone what they want because only one group can win in the end.
There is the group that can careless if Tebow succeeds and wants him to fall flat on his face. Then there is the group that wants him to succeed and rub it in the face of all the haters. There are eleven games left to see what exactly Tebow can do, and the only thing we can be sure of is people will be tuning in to see what happens.
