Memphis - With multiple Grammy's and almost two dozen Music Awards, Usher will be accepting his most prestigious award yet. The Freedom Award for Philanthropy.
According to WMCTV R&B superstar Usher will be honored on November 12 for his philanthropic work. Usher's New Look Foundation helps young people in four leadership groups, talent, education, career and service, "to ensure their success as leaders throughout the world." according to a statement from the museum.
USA reports that the foundation has raised financial resources for Katrina victims and issued a "call to action" for Haiti relief in year 2010.
Usher will be honored among others who will include, Dr. Bill Frist, former NBA player Bill Russell and actress Cicely Tyson.
The Republic reports the Freedom Award recognizes individuals who work for justice, equality, philanthropy, civil and human rights and humanitarian causes.
