The USA Today Super 25 computer rankings
has Bentonville at the top of the 2011 Boys Varsity Football list. The ratings are updated weekly and the Bentonville Tigers
moved into the number one position following their 45-6 victory over the Rogers Heritage High School War Eagles on Friday night. Bentonville tops Trinity High School for Boys out of Louisville, Kentucky as well as Texas powerhouse teams from the towns of Allen, Austin, DeSoto, and Katy.
Massey Ratings are used to calculate team ranks. According to USA Today, "Ken Massey’s renowned ratings algorithm was added to the BCS Formula in 1999 to choose opponents for the NCAA Div 1 National Championship game. This same algorithm calculates HighSchoolSports.net’s Massey Ratings every week for select high school varsity teams across the country."
The Tigers play in Class 7A and have, to date, decisively defeated
North Little Rock High School (49-14), Fort Zumwalt West High School (42-12), Texas High School (36-0), Fayetteville High School (41-6), Southside Senior High School (38-0), and most recently Rogers Heritage High School (45-6) at the annual Homecoming game.
Upcoming games are against Rogers High School, Northside High School, Springdale High School, and Har-Ber High School. With the exception of Northside High School, the Bentonville Tigers will be hosting teams at Tiger Stadium. Welcome to The Jungle!
