Former NDP MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) David Schreck says the Premier’s attire in legislature is inappropriate. His remarks drew furious responses from the Premier and sitting MLA’s.
Former
NDP (New Democratic Party) MLA David Schreck said Premier Christy Clark’s attire in the provincial parliament is inappropriate, revealing too much cleavage. His tweeted comments drew angry response from sitting MLA’s from both sides of the floor.
Premier Clark said the comments are
“stupid” and that’s why women are deterred from entering politics. The
Liberal Premier has support from none other than Opposition NDP’s former leader Carole James who said Schreck’s remarks are inappropriate.
NDP Leader Adrian Dix said he told Schreck to apologise, but that he has declined. Schreck says he likes the Premier’s cleavage “as a man”, but expects the Premier to dress more conservatively in the legislature.
Premier Clark said she’s used to hearing stupid remarks and, much to a sigh of relief from male voters, said she would not change her dress style.
Vancouver Province asked, “Is Christy Clark too sexy for her shirt? Or just too sexy for the legislature? Most pundits agree that after the resignation of Premier Gordon Campbell over the
HST fiasco the Premier's good looks are the only trump card left for
BC Liberals before the next provincial election.
Aw c’mon Mr. Shrek, err Mr. Schreck, don’t be a Neanderthal.
