Parents will have a chance to hear in detail about the safety of their kids being online. They will learn about kids' communication on the Internet.
According to Nems360 a seminar will be conducted via online on participation of safety on the social networking sites. A Facebook personnel will conduct the seminar online. Bobby Harrison of the Daily Journal the event is sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Education and The Attorney General's Office and is set to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Clinton High School Auditorium.
The seminar can be viewed statewide via the Attorney General's Facebook page at http://on.fb.me/n9x9Ri. Attorney General Jim Hood said as co-chair of the National Association of Attorneys General Tech Committee, he has encouraged Facebook "to help educated parents on how to monitor their children on the internet.
The Mississippi Board of Education and MDE says their primary focus is on preventing bullying, including cyber bullying and they think the seminars are a good opportunity for parents to learn how social media work and how to closely monitor their children.
