There's a new Chief of Staff in town, and her name is Angella Reid. She's just been named the next chief usher of the White House.
According to reports from The Washington Post Reid is currently general manager of the Ritz-Carlton at Pentagon City.
She will run the household staff and grounds at the White House located on Pennsylvania Ave. Reid was born in Jamaica and will only be the ninth usher since 1885 and the first woman. Stephen W. Rochon, the previous usher, left this year to join the Department of Homeland Security.
The Huffington Post reports that Reid was not available for interviews but knows she loves the band U2, and also reports that she knows the secret to success is "genuinely caring for people." In a video on the Ritz Carlton's corporate website she says she's also a fan of the Pet Shop Boys, Tina Turner and Chris Botti.
CNN reports according to the White House, Reid will oversee all operations pertaining to the Executive Residence. Reid will also be in charge of maintaining close relationships with the White House Historical Association, the Committee for the Preservation of the White House and the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts.
