Twenty-five years her junior the Duchess of Alba married Alfonso Diez at the Las Deuena Palace in front of a hundreds of guests. Yahoo News reports a crowd of several hundred clapped and roared its approval a the bride and groom waved, smiled and danced on a red carpet after the wedding. The Duchess and Diez, a civil servant shrugged off her children's qualms and celebrated by kicking off her shoes and dancing.
Azstarnet reports that the twice widowed duchess wore a salmon, dress by Spanish designers Victorio y Lucchino. The duchess is among Spain's most famous people. There were only a few dozen family members and friends invited to the ceremony.
The Duchess and Diez who work for the Social Security Administration are old acquaintances through her second husband, who was a former Jesuit priest, and Diez's brother, an antiques dealer. Faith has it that they bumped into each-other about three years ago outside a movie theater in Madrid and afterwards started dating.
The Duchess six children, all from her first marriage, reportedly were against the idea of her marriage. In July of this year the Duchess assigned her kids and grand-kids huge chunks of her vast estate, mansions and palaces, in effort to appease them and clear her way to the altar.
Fox News reports the estimate of her wealth to range from € 600 million ($800 million) to € 3.5 billion ($4.7 billion).
