Therefore, we are trying to unleash alternative designs that will interest consumers that are very open in this market.”
The fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue, considered one of the most popular and coveted around the world, featured unique fabrics of long historical traditional from Cusco, Peru in its August edition. The country of Peru possesses collections that are captivating the attention from designers from around the world because of its exclusivity.
"This is a perfect time for the rich and wondrous collections from Peru to be introduced in the state of Minnesota. I am delighted that Utku Fashion selected the city of Minneapolis to show its rich collection of handmade fabrics made from alpaca and various jewelries made of silver inspired from the Inca culture,” said Senator Patricia Torres Ray.
The word Utku is rooted in Quechua, the official language of the Inca Empire, and its definition means cotton and textile Inca art. It is considered one of the oldest traditions of the Andean region. It was a technique developed during the heyday of the Inca Empire and still practiced in the region through modern day fashion.
Utku Fashion seeks to promote cultural identity and diversity through its latest fashion runway show that will expose talented designers from all over Latin America.
