This past weekend marked the beginning of fall 2011. The signs are everywhere that what many believe here in Southern Ontario is the best season of them all.
Weather reports last week were rather gloomy for the inaugural weekend of this 2011 fall season: rain, overcast, cool, generally not a very nice outlook.
So, those of us who are up north were more than pleasantly surprised when the clouds parted late Friday afternoon and a glorious sunset was what we were presented with.

The colors are just starting to change and everywhere you look you see waves of yellows, bursts of orange and splashes of red.

But, it is not just the trees that are changing and blooming, there are fall flowers of all colors, masses of grasses dark browns and burnt umbras, and many shrubs and bushes too.

And the wildlife is also in full swing, preparing for what may or may not be a long winter ahead. Fortunately, nature provides for some as well.

As always, it is the spectacular beauty of the trees that makes many love the Fall season the most of all.
