A dog from Westby, Wisconsin, is lucky to be alive. The dog fell into raw sewage at the Westby Sewage Plant, after people tried to catch her.
The incident took place on Thursday. An operator noticed the dog around the Westby Sewage Plant, snooping. The operator called the police but when the officer and the operator tried to catch the dog, she took off and jumped into the sewage.
According to News 8000, the officer and operator were finally able to get the dog out, by fishing the animal out. Once the dog was caught it was given a warm bath and then sent off to the pound, according to Sewer Operator Eric Miller.
Lisa Senior is from the Vernon County Humane Society and she said that the dog had a few angels with the operator, as well the cop who brought her to the pound. The dog was named Angellina because Lina was taken because she was from Westby and Angel was taken because she had guardian angels with her rescuers, according to Senior.
The dog is now on its way to see the vet for a checkup.
Angellina was not the only dog who was rescued this past week. According to UPI, a couple could not find their dog for six days because the dog fell to the bottom of a sinkhole in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The dog was missing for six days.
The dog was rescued and appeared to be hungry and thirsty but was not injured.
