By KJ Mullins     Sep 14, 2011 in Politics
Toronto - Members from the Committee for the Republic of Canada were at Queen and Yonge Streets today raising awareness of their political party.
The Committee for the Republic of Canada follows the ideology of Lyndon LaRouche, a politician from the United States. They are asking Canadians to campaign against big banks who have little liability.
The party has never won any seats. It was formerly called the Party for the Commonwealth of Canada.
The movement first appeared in the 1960's and is now considered a right-wing group.
The United States followers of LaRouche have had a violent past at protests.
Two members were talking to Torontorians today at the busy intersection raising awareness of their beliefs of the banking system in North America.
