Former Beatle Paul McCartney is to marry his fiancée, Nancy Shevell, this weekend. The setting will be a country farmhouse in Sussex, England.
Businesswoman Shevell and McCartney were engaged four months ago and have promised a small, intimate wedding, in a "very elegant and classic" setting. There will also be a big party and celebration in New York where Shevell works as a board member on the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, reports Rolling Stone magazine.
This will be McCartney's third marriage. He famously wed American photographer Linda Eastman in 1969. Paul and Linda were both strict vegetarians. Linda died from breast cancer in 1998. Four years later he wed Heather Mills, they had a child together in 2003, Beatrice. But the marriage broke down in 2006 and an acrimonious divorce was finalised in 2008.
McCartney began dating Shevell while his divorce proceedings were going through in late 2007. On one Beatles song Rocky Raccoon Paul once sang the line, "her name was McGill, but she called herself Lill, and everyone knew her as Nancy."
The 68-year-old former Beatle has not revealed details yet as to when and how he proposed to the 51-year-old New Yorker.
