Google has acquired Zagat, a website well-known for original restaurant reviews and guides, according to a blog post on Google's official blog.
On Thursday, Zagat's founders mentioned on their blog, Google has acquired their business. Google has also stated in Google's official blog, Zagat will "be a cornerstone of our local offering." Zagat is famous for original reviews and rating service. It was established in 1979 "as a way to collect and correlate the ratings of restaurants by diners."
According to media reports, Google intends to boost local coverage using user surveys, ratings, and guides that can be aggregated into Google services and maps.
The founders of Zagat, Nina and Tim Zagat, believe, "Google delivers the most relevant and high-quality information, and it's the perfect home" for their content.
