Every year during the last week of August, comic book fans join horror and science fiction fans at the Metro Toronto Convention centre for Fan Expo.
The fan convention is an annual event which welcomes comic book creators and companies, celebrities from various film and television genres, gaming companies and vendors of all types—including comic books, merchandise, clothing, video games, gaming, manga and independent comic creators—and brings them all together under one roof for several days.
The 2011 event spans four days, beginning August 25 and running until August 28. This year's guests included Nightmare on Elm Street's Robert Englund, Dollhouse's Eliza Dushku, while William Shatner will again grace fans with his presence this year, arriving for one day only on Aug. 28 where he will take time to sign autographs and pose for photos.
One of the larger attractions of the event are the creators panels and Q&A celebrity panels where fans can get the inside scoop on upcoming projects or find out more about their favourite celebrities.
Fan Expo is a great place for fans to find that rare comic book, rare action figure, or perhaps that autograph you've been dying to get. Regardless, there's something for everyone, no matter your interests.
Fan Expo's final day is Aug. 28, while tickets for the day are $30.
