A Malaysian man is suing his ex-fiancee for $360,000 (MYR 1,092,960; £219,000) after she walked out on him just hours before their wedding was supposed to take place.
Seeking compensation for damages and defamation, Masran Abdul Rahman, 36, filed suit against his ex-fiance, Norzuliyana Mat Hassan, yesterday.
Masran's lawyer, Laytifah Ariffin, says 1,200 guest were invited to attend the June ceremonies, but Nozuliyana left Masran just six hours before the wedding.
Masran's suit has been filed against both his ex-fiancee and her father. Laytifah says the two cause Masran and his family stress and embarrassment by failing to follow through with the
arranged marriage.
Nozuliyana could not be reached for comment, but Layifah says she gave no reason for calling-off the wedding.
