article imageOp-Ed: Sky News reporter Mark Stone confronts cowardly thugs in Clapham

By Christopher Bates     Aug 9, 2011 in Crime
Clapham - After last night's continued riots in London, fear was struck into many civilised residents who saw their communities crumble, however, Mark Stone - a brave reporter for Sky News - was on a mission to confront these senseless thugs.
Stone was just up the road from Clapham Junction, as several "looters" smashed into electrical store Currys Digital and helped themselves to anything they could get their hands on.
One girl asked if Stone was a journalist, to which he replied: "No, I live here, I'm just astounded at what you're doing."
As she continued to hide her face, the girl said: "We're getting our taxes back."
"You're getting your taxes back? What do you mean by that?" Stone asked.
The girl gave the educated response: "Obviously we pay tax init."
Although many local residents are offering to help clean-up Clapham, police have told volunteers that for health and safety reasons, only members of the local council will be authorised to take part.
