Phoenix - If you are a fan of the Arizona Cardinals and missed the minor transactions they pulled off this week then this is the place to find out. I will go through all the signing they made in this past week to keep you up to date.
The Arizona Cardinals started by signing linebacker Stewart Bradley, and then they picked up defensive end Nick Eason. They continued to work on pieces in the defense by bringing in linebackers Sam Acho, and Quan Sturdivant. They added some bulk to the defensive line with David Carter, Amobi Okoye who they signed to a one-year contract. That is what they did to boaster their front seven on the defense.
They came to an agreement with their first round (5th overall) selection in the 2011 NFL Draft Patrick Peterson. (6 feet, 1 inch, 219 pounds) was a unanimous All-American selection as a junior in 2010 and was also selected as the school's first Bednarik Award winner as the nation's top defender. He was also given the Thorpe Award for the nation's top defensive back. He signed to a four-year, $18.5 million contract with a fifth year at the team's option.
As far as the secondary they picked up free-agent

Richard Marshall (5-11, 198) spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers where he finished fourth on the team last season with a career high 91 tackles (75 solos), three interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one sack. They also added Tae Evans (6-0, 205) was a two-year starter at West Texas A&M and recorded a team high 85 tackles (47 solos), four interceptions and 16 passes deflections while being named first-team Lone Star Conference and the LSC Defensive Back of the Year as a senior.
In the end they released cornerback Da'mon Merkerson to make room for their new defensive aquasitions.
The Cardinals made their moves on offense as well by coming to an agreement with guard Daryn Colledge, and re-signed center Lyle Sendlein to sure up their offensive line. They then got some nice weapons picking up former tighend of the Baltimore Ravens Todd Heap who spent 11 years in Baltimore, but is a native of Mesa, Arizona. He also attended Arizona State University. They also picked up tightend Jeff King with wideouts Chansi Stuckey and DeMarco Sampson. Arizona also picked up a fullback in Anthony Sherman.
