It can be said that Fairfield, CT is one of the more well known places in the United States. Take a stroll through Downtown Fairfield and find out why.
As you stroll down Post Road you see a few sites that you might now know about. These are just a few of the many that make up what Money Magazine ranked ninth in 2006 as "the best place to live."
Having lived in Fairfield, CT for the past four years while in college I learned a lot about the sites, places, people, and events that this town has to offer. I've discovered quite a few places....
These unique restaurants are all Located on Post Road, and one token theatre are what make this town so special.
Las Vetas Lounge is located right next to Fairfield Train Station and has some of the best coffee and tea's, as well as some of the most exotic such a blueberry. Every customer gets a different mug, no two mugs are exactly alike. The lounge has a unique decor. Inside the tables drawers contain love letters written by real people and left for real people. Customers are allowed to read them and put them back. If you are looking for a place to relax, get some work done (they have wifi), or hang out this is the place to try!
Centros Restorante and Bar is a small restaurant that serves American and Italian foods. What makes it so special is the elegant yet relaxing atmosphere with food out of this world. The pecornio chicken dish with homemade mashed potatoes and vegetables is a favorite!
Firehouse Deli is a deli inside an old firehouse. There known by many for the Thanksgiving sandwich! This delicious deli has seating inside and outside.
Colony Grill owned by NY Ranger Chris Drury serves only pizza. With many different toppings the one to try is definitely hot oil!
Chef's Table Fine Food Fast is there slogan and that is exactly what customers get. The atmosphere is laid back and music oriented with bands that play. With options like create your own salad there is a favorite for everyone. My favorite is the Chicken Mozzarella Panini.
Last but not least the Community Theatre. This theatre plays movies, holds shows and serves the traditional popcorn, candy, and soda. What caught my eye was last weekend they had a showing of the movie Jaws, an all time favorite.
So much to do and see, I couldn't give town justice in just one article. See for yourself when you're in the area. Choose from any of these options or more to see what Downtown Fairfield is all about.
