article imageOp-Ed: Man dragged down street at 35mph in attempt to retrieve handbag

By Christopher Bates     Jul 27, 2011 in Crime
San Joaquin - Most of us will do whatever it takes to stand up for our friends, however, this California man went to extreme speeds in an attempt to retrieve his friend's handbag.
TV reporters thought they were in for a normal day when preparing to film a live report in Stockton, California, although it turned out to be quite the opposite.
It was probably worth the TV crew's time though, as they managed to capture an unfamiliar story in the process, thus turning their attention away from the intended original.
Video footage shows a man hanging from a car window at the speed of 35mph.
News10 photographer Mark Pepper soon followed in pursuit of the vehicle, and while the hanging-man eventually managed to climb into the car, there was no sign of the handbag in question.
While nobody was arrested, more importantly, neither man was left seriously injured.
