Maria Shriver files for divorce and there is no prenup

By KJ Mullins     Jul 13, 2011 in Entertainment
Arnold Schwarzenegger is back to the movie grind which may be a good thing for his wallet. Wife Maria Shriver has filed for divorce to end their 25-year marriage, requesting spousal support.
According to TMZ Shriver is asking for joint custody of the couple's youngest two children Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13. Arnold could be paying for the lawyers as requested by his estranged wife. The petition was filed by Laura Wasser.
The couple didn't have a prenuptial agreement meaning that all of their earnings since they married will be divided in half.
Shriver and Schwarzenegger are said to be on civil terms presently which could make for an easy divorce.
The couple announced their separation in March. The news was a surprise until it was announced that the former governor of California had fathered a child with a member of his household staff.
Arnold will be in the upcoming Last Stand, a western, that begins production in September.
