Sag Harbor - Over the weekend, American comedian and former Saturday Night Live star Darrell Hammond was involved in a car crash that forced him to quit the closing performance of his play.
According to the Toronto Sun, Hammond was in a car with his friend at Sag Harbor, New York, when another car crashed into theirs.
Escaping with minor injuries, Hammond still had to cancel the last performance of Tru, his one-man play, which was being shown at the Bay Street Theatre.
A play about Truman Capote, an American author known for his works Breakfast at Tiffany's and In Cold Blood and for his friendship with To Kill a Mockingbird author Harper Lee, Tru was regarded by the New York Times as "an insightful play and a memorable performance."
In a report from Star Pulse, Hammond is now recuperating from the incident at his home. No word regarding the fate of Tru has come out yet.
