New York - “Bond” actor Daniel Craig and Academy Award-winning actress Rachel Weisz secretly tied the knot in New York City on June 22.
Reps for 43-year-old Craig and 41-year-old Weisz confirmed the low-key wedding—witnessed by just four guests, including the bride's five-year-old son Henry, the groom's 18-year-old daughter Ella, and two mutual friends–to news outlets over the weekend, MTV News reported.
“Daniel and Rachel insisted on having a small, quiet wedding,” a source close to the couple is quoted as saying in the MTV report. “They are madly in love and couldn’t wait to be husband and wife—but they wanted minimum fuss.”
The “Dream House” co-stars met on-set of the supernatural thriller late last year, where they found themselves the subjects of a then rumoured romance—which they in turn publicly denied—and their courtship has been flying under the radar ever since, reports E! Online.
Craig has starred in two Bond films, including 2006's “Casino Royale” and 2008's “Quantum of Solace.” He also plays the lead in the upcoming remake of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” and is set to reprise his role as James Bond in 2012’s “Bond 23,” states IMDb.
The now Mrs. Craig is best known for her parts in 1999’s “The Mummy,” 2006’s “The Fountain,” and 2009’s “The Lovely Bones.” She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her work in “The Constant Gardener” in 2006.
In the not-yet-released “Dream House,” the England natives play a married couple that moves their family into a seemingly perfect home, unaware of its ties to a past brutal murder.
Last year, Craig parted ways with longtime girlfriend, producer Satsuki Mitchell, and Weisz also ended her nine-year relationship with “Black Swan” director, and father to her son, Darren Aronofsky, MTV reports.
