Former reality TV star turned fashion designer/best-selling author Lauren Conrad is adding the title of Forbes columnist to her growing resume.
The career-juggling 25-year-old’s weekly blog—providing readers with four months of insider talk on the fashion and publishing industries, the management of a celebrity website, as well as occasional beauty and style advice—made its debut in the Lifestyle section of the business magazine’s site June 23, New York Daily News reported.
Pegged by Forbes as a “celebpreneur,” Conrad addressed any public skepticism regarding her presence on the site in her first entry, "Meet Lauren Conrad, Inc."
“Many of you are probably wondering why you should take a person like me seriously as an entrepreneur,” Conrad wrote Thursday.
“For me, it’s pretty clear: I run two clothing lines, two websites and a book franchise on top of directly managing my brand and endorsement deals.”
Since stepping away from MTV’s cameras in 2009, and leaving behind the "The Hills"—the reality show that made her a household name—Conrad has been busy making waves in various fields. Earlier this year, she released the Kohl's women’s line LC by Lauren Conrad, and is currently preparing for the summer release of yet another clothing collection, specialty line Paper Crown. Beyond managing two websites, her own, and beauty site, the California native has also penned the popular young adult novel series L.A. Candy.
Forbes Lifestyle associate editor Jane Lee said she is hopeful about bringing the voice of the young businesswoman on-board.
“Lauren’s jump from celebrity to entrepreneur puts her on the same trajectory as many a bright-eyed instant cover girl, but whether she can channel her persona into an enduring commercial tour de force remains to be seen,” wrote Lee.
“All considered, she’s off to a good start.”
