Boston - Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin and her One Nation bus tour hit a roadblock of sorts late last week when she was asked about Revolutionary War hero Paul Revere, giving him credit for warning the British were coming.
“He who warned, uh, the, the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells and, uh, making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free,” were her comments on a YouTube video seeing plenty of action.
Olde Boston Towne was part of Palin’s scheduled bus stop on Thursday, a day likely to become as famous for her, provided she forevermore keeps her mouth shut, as was Revere’s famous midnight ride.
As expected, the Internet is alive over Palin’s latest verification of her ignorance. Adding to the endless online barrage on her presumed intelligence as she ponders leading the country, Bill Maher summed up the former part-term Alaskan governor’s chances at becoming president. “She should not be on vacation, she should be in summer school. I mean, Paul Revere was warning the British? About gun control? And Washington, apparently, was crossing the Delaware to bomb an abortion clinic,” he said, according to Raw Story.
Palin, who makes her living these days off a gullible American public, a Fox News paycheck, and believe it or not, book deals, on Sunday defended her view of American history. “ I didn’t mess up,” she said on Fox News Sunday, according to USA Today. “I answered candidly and I know my American history.”
Palin added the response to her bus tour is an “affirmation” of the country’s need for leadership change.
