Op-Ed: Soccer player misses open goal from four yards

We've all had a fair share of embarrassing moments when playing our sport of choice, but possibly none as cringe-worthy as this Venezuelan soccer player's moment of madness.
Anderson Fredrick probably wanted to hang up his boots following a lower league match in Venezuela.
Without a single defender in ideal proximity, Fredrick carefully knocks the ball past the keeper and edges towards goal.
I know what you're thinking. He can't miss, right? Wrong!
Fredrick fixes to smash the ball into the back of the net from just four yards out. Instead, thanks to an unexpected bounce, the ball sails over the crossbar.
As UK newspaper the Metro so gladly explains, Fredrick has been inducted into their hall of shame.
Oh no!
Also (if your eyes aren't already sore enough), check out Kei Kamara of the Kansas City Wizards. While the ball is ON the goal line, he somehow slips and handballs it behind, resulting in a free-kick to the opposition.
