An anonymous international buyer has just purchased a penthouse at Toronto's Four Seasons Hotel for the record-breaking price of $28.6 million, a price that that puts the penthouse as the most expensive condominium sold in Canada.
According to
Bloomberg, at 9,038 square feet, the penthouse sits on the top floor of the 55-storey West Residence building.
The hotel, which is currently under construction, is about 85 percent finished and is expected to open its doors and condominiums to the public by summer 2012.
The penthouse was initially priced at $30 million when it was first open for sale in September 2008. By comparison, the most expensive condominium sold in Montreal was, according to
Montreal Gazette, sold for $15 million.
Still, though, the price compares to a condominium at Manhattan's Plaza Hotel that sold for $48 million, a record for New York City.
