Romanian soccer player escapes flaming missile

By Christopher Bates     May 27, 2011 in Sports
Brasov - An Albanian soccer player is lucky to be alive after narrowly escaping a flaming firecraker launched at him in the Romanian cup final.
Elis Bakaj, who plays for Dinamo Bucharest, was attempting to cross the ball into the Steaua Bucharest box before the flaming missile shot past him.
Reacting as if it's a standard occurance at Romanian soccer matches, the 23-year-old continued with the game, however the referee halted play to deal with the incident.
Not only did Dinamo Bucharest go on to lose the game 2-1, but it has been reported that the missile came from their own 'supporter'.
