article image'Despicable Me' coming to Universal Studios in 2012

By Christopher Bates     May 19, 2011 in Entertainment
Orlando - It has recently been announced that Orlando's Universal Studios will be making some large changes to their theme park for 2012.
Not only will "The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man" be going high-definition 3-D, but a new "Despicable Me" attraction is set to replace "Jimmy Neutron”.
The new attraction will turn the audience into an army of minions, which will require them to wear minion goggles.
Despicable Me was released in 2010 and earned a box office revenue of $540 million. Disney expects this popularity to carry through to the park, much like "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter”.
Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative, said:
The audience will feel transformed.
