Boxing superstar and Philippine Congressman Manny Pacquiao was recently declared the richest member of the House of Representatives based on the statement of assets, liabilities and net worth filed with the office.
.Pacquiao's net worth was reported at P1.134 billion as of December 31, 2010 with assets of P398 million consisting of real estate properties and personal and other properties valued at P737 million. The boxing idol has no liabilities.
Pacquiao's net worth does no include his purse from his fight with Shane Mosley last May 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. His guaranteed prize was $20 million excluding his share in the pay-per-view buys and other income from the fight.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao faces a heavy work load in his congressional office in Manila and in Sarangani province which he represents in congress.
Lee Ann Omega, who also serves as the boxer’s spokesperson, said Pacquiao was scheduled to arrive in Manila early Saturday and will head for home the next day to attend “the very important events.”
"Malungon town Mayor Reynaldo Constantino, a Pacquaio ally, told reporters that upon his return, the boxer will focus on his job as a lawmaker and on implementing various projects funded by his pork barrel," Inquirer.net reports.
"Constantino said Pacquiao might also push through with the groundbreaking for the provincial hospital that he pledged to build in Sarangani. Sarangani is still without a provincial health facility," the report added.
Pacquiao and his entourage are due to arrive in Manila on Saturday from Los Angeles California.
