Augusta - A man found on top of an Augusta, Georgia Waffle House is lucky to be alive according to the local fire department. The man was found by a repairman on the roof who called for help.
Special Operations Chief Byron W. Taylor said in a phone interview that a man found Tuesday morning on top of the local Waffle House was "not in very good health." Taylor said that the condition on the man is not known at this time.
"He's very lucky that the repairman found him when he did. I was told he would not have lasted much longer if he had not been found when he was."
The fire department used a stokes basket to lower the man off of the roof and into the hands of waiting EMS. He was taken to hospital and treated for dehydration.
Taylor said that the temperature in Augusta is in the 90s.
