Dallas - Each team has won on their home court in every game this season and tonight’s game was no different. As of right now the home team in this season series is 9-0, and if the Blazers can keep it going we may be looking at a game seven.
The Dallas Mavericks (57-25) came home to bounce back from the game four loss to the Portland Trail Blazers (48-34) this past Saturday. The Blazers came back in last game from 23 down to get a big win to even the series, but tonight the Mavs just too much while the Blazers did not have enough.
The game started out with both teams trading baskets as the game was tied at ten points apiece at the 5:54 mark. The game stayed tied until the 3:12 mark when Tyson Chandler made a free-throw and Jason Terry mad a jumper.
The Blazers bounced back and took the lead with an 8-0 run to take a 20-15 lead to end the first quarter.
Rudy Fernandez made a three-pointer to start the second quarter and give the Blazers a 23-15 lead. The Mavs got within three with a pair of Dirk Nowitzki free-throws to make it 23-20. The Mavs began to get back in the game and they tied it up at 27 points apiece with a Jason Terry jumper.
Jason Terry and Peja Stojakovic made back-to-back three-pointers to give the Mavs a 33-29 lead. Portland bounced back to take the lead as they got a three-pointer from Andre Miller and a jumper from LaMarcus Aldridge to take a 36-35 lead. The Miller three-pointer started a 12-2 run that gave them a 43-37 lead.
The Mavs took the lead back with a run of their own as they tied the game up at 43 points apiece. Shawn Marion scored the final four points of the half to give the Mavs a 44-43 lead going into halftime.
Dallas came out in the second half and the Tyson Chandler scored on a layup. The teams traded baskets, but the Mavs came out on top with a 52-50 lead. The Mavs had the lead 57-53 and they called a timeout.
The Mavs pushed their lead nine with an 8-2 run to make the score 65-56. Shawn Marion pushed the Mavs lead to 11 and made it 68-57.

The Blazers got a pair of free-throws from Rudy Fernandez to make it 68-59. Jason Terry made a jumper to start a 8-4 run to help the Mavs take a 76-62 lead to end the quarter.
The Blazers got a jumper from Brandon Roy to open the fourth quarter and cut the Mavs lead to 12 points. Jason Terry and Peja Stojakovic made jumpers to give the Mavs an 80-64 lead. The Blazers went cold as they could not score a field-goal since Roy’s at the beginning of the quarter.
The Mavs got a three-pointer from Peja Stojakovic to give them a 90-68 lead and force the Blazers to take a timeout with 4:24 left in the game. Andre Miller finally converted a field goal for the Blazers at the 4:09 mark.
Portland then went on a 9-0 run to get within 13 points with 1:08 left in the game. Jason Kidd made a pair of free-throws to ice the game for the Mavs.
Andre Miller led the Blazers with 18 points and seven assists. Gerald Wallace scored 16 points with nine rebounds, and two assists, steals, and blocks. LaMarcus Aldridge scored just 12 points with nine rebounds, and two assists, steals, and blocks. Nicolas Batum came off the bench to score 12 points.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points with eight rebounds. Tyson Chandler had 14 points with 20 rebounds, and Shawn Marion scored 14 points with four rebounds and steal with three assists. Jason Kidd had a power shooting night, but had 14 assists.
Jason Terry had 20 points off the bench and Peja Stojakovic added nine points.
The Mavs hold the 3-2 lead and they will square off again in Portland on Thursday, April 28, 2011.
