A botched robbery at an Internet cafe in Florida, that was caught on videotape by a surveillance camera, resulted in a shoot-out between the armed robbers and a security guard that ended with the death of one of the suspects.
On the videotape obtained by ABC News Orlando, a violent scene unfolds after a pair of armed bandits entered an Apopka Internet Cafe in what appeared to be an robbery attempt in progress.
Customers of the cafe, who were quietly using the computers provided, can be seen scrambling for cover as the men rushed the door of Allied Veteran's Internet Center, waving their guns in the air.
One of the two men attempted to grab the security guard on duty. The guard was able to break free and find cover behind a partition and then draw his weapon and fire it at the first suspect, who moved out of sight of the security camera located inside the business.
The second suspect who had entered the cafe, immediately turned and ran when it was apparent the robbery had been thwarted by the fast acting security guard.
My Fox Orlandoreports, "Lt. James Clark, a spokesperson for the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, said a deputy spotted the getaway car moments after the shootout, but the driver wouldn't stop. Minutes later, Orange County deputies received a call about a shooting victim who was dropped off at a motel near the intersection of Clarcona-Ocoee Road and Orange Blossom Trail. The man, believed to be a suspect in the cafe shooting, was transported to a hospital where he died."
Later in the morning, according to Fox News, "Deputies in Orange County spotted the suspected getaway car. Investigators said the driver eventually stopped the car and two remaining suspects took off running."
Authorities are still looking for the two remaining suspects and are asking for citizens help in identifying both the man who entered the Internet cafe and managed to escape unharmed and the driver of the vehicle who helped the suspects to make their escape.
None of the customers or employees of Allied Veteran's Internet Center were injured in the botched robbery attempt.
