article imageMSNBC's O'Donnell slams Trump as NBC's greatest 'embarrassment'

By Michael Krebs     Apr 20, 2011 in Entertainment
Comparing real estate billionaire and potential Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to Charlie Sheen, MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell equated Trump to NBC's greatest 'embarrassment.'
While real estate baron and potential Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump began making the rounds of key strategic early-voting states, as Christian Science Monitor reported on Wednesday, MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell concluded that Mr. Trump's entire presidential endeavor is a farce and that he will soon be recalled by NBC executives to fulfill his role as the host of "The Apprentice" series.
"An actual vote for Trump for president will be a failure of an intelligence test which no one will ever be given because Trump will never run," O'Donnell confidently predicted. "His fake campaign will be over by May sixteenth when NBC announces its upcoming season, which will include Donald Trump as a paid performer for NBC. He is now NBC's Charlie Sheen, the greatest individual embarrassment in the history of the network."
Trump's behavior seems to indicate that he intends to run, and the New Hampshire Union Leader reported on Wednesday that he is planning to visit the state twice within a two week period. During this trip, Trump plans to meet with New Hampshire's Republican Chairman Jack Kimball.
"Mr. Trump is truly excited about, and looking forward to, his visit to the first-in-the-nation primary state as well as meeting with Chairman Kimball and others," Michael Cohen, executive vice president of The Trump Organization, said, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader report.
However, as O'Donnell notes, Trump does have obligations to his reality television series.
"And he will continue his venomous, poisonous, hateful on the president, and his ugly fanning of the flames of hatred for this president that exists among the people who do not believe Barrack Obama's presidency is legitimate, and he will do that until May sixteenth when NBC reminds you how this silly man really makes his living and then orders him to shut up."
Trump has said that he will make his announcement either way by early June.
