Richmond Hill - Police in the Toronto area are asking the public to help ID a suspect who started a John Deer tractor at a Richmond Hill Walmart last week. The unattended vehicle caused thousands of dollars in damage.
York Police had to deal with a "ghost tractor" last Wednesday evening at the Walmart located at 255 Silver Linden Drive. The store's parking lot had become a huge bumper car arena for an unmanned John Deere tractor that someone started and put into motion.
In the end, the vehicle damaged three vehicles, a fire hydrant, a light standard and the Walmart building itself say York Police. Luckily no injuries took place.
The owners of the tractor, hired by Walmart for maintenance purposes, are cooperating fully with investigators.
Witnesses on scene obtained video of the damage, which is included above.
York Police are asking anyone who saw anything out of place that evening to contact them.
